Injection Moulding Machine for Drip Line End Caps
Drip line end caps, the plugs and threaded caps that close the far end of a lateral, are moulded from PP on horizontal injection moulding machines in multi-cavity moulds. Cavity count and the way internal threads are released, stripped off or unscrewed, decide mould size and machine choice. Thread form must survive repeated opening for flushing.
End caps are small, so the work is in holding thread and seal dimensions across every cavity and in matching the machine to a stripper or unscrewing mould. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for drip line end caps and can recommend a model for the mould type you plan.

Machine Requirements for Drip Line End Cap Moulding
An end cap must hold line pressure, then come off by hand for flushing and go back on, so the moulding needs:
- Internal threads that strip off without stress whitening
- Unscrewing mould drive for deeper or finer thread forms
- Sealing land free of sink and gate vestige
- Repeatable shot weight across many small cavities
- UV stabilised PP for caps exposed in the field
- Grip ribs filled fully without short shots
Recommended Machine for Drip Line End Caps
End caps are light, and their moulds are sized by cavity count and by the thread release system. Stripper moulds with moderate cavity counts fit the E Series (75-180 T). Unscrewing moulds carry gear trains and drives that add width and height, and with high cavities they can need the H Series (120-350 T).

FAQs / Buyer Questions
Questions buyers raise with our engineers before ordering end cap moulds.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Drip Line End Caps?
Compact stripper moulds usually run on the E Series. Unscrewing tools and high cavity moulds, which are larger and heavier, often call for the H Series. Mould type matters as much as cap size.Do End Caps Need an Unscrewing Mould?
Not always. PP is flexible enough for shallow, rounded threads to be stripped off the core. Deeper or finer threads, or caps with tight seals, are usually formed in an unscrewing mould to avoid damage. How Many Cavities Can an End Cap Mould Have?
Cavity count follows cap size, the thread release system and the output needed. Unscrewing mechanisms take space, so they usually allow fewer cavities than a stripper mould of the same footprint.
Should Drip Line End Caps Be UV Stabilised?
Yes, where caps sit in sunlight at the field edge. UV stabilised PP or a UV masterbatch slows embrittlement, so the thread does not crack when the cap is opened for flushing. Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Drip Line End Cap?
Yes. Share the cap drawing or sample, thread details, material, part weight, mould size and type, cavities and monthly output, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a machine.Does the Machine Suit Other Drip Line Fittings Too?
Yes, subject to mould size. Drip line flush valves, barb connectors, drip takeoffs and lateral fittings are similar small parts, so the same machine can switch between their moulds.
