Injection Moulding Machine for Sprinklers
Sprinkler parts are made on horizontal injection moulding machines, with the body, nozzle, arm and bearing moulded as separate components from POM, nylon, PP or ABS. Machine size is set by the largest body mould, its projected area and shot weight, and by cavity count for small nozzles. Nozzle bore accuracy matters most, because it sets throw and flow.
For sprinklers, machine selection centres on running more than one material, holding nozzle dimensions shot to shot and fitting body moulds with threaded bases. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for sprinkler production and can recommend a configuration for your parts and moulds.

Machine Requirements for Sprinkler Moulding
A sprinkler is an assembly of parts with different jobs, so each component brings its own moulding demands:
- Tight shrinkage control on POM nozzles for a steady throw
- Drying before moulding nylon or glass-filled nylon bodies
- Unscrewing cores or slides for threaded inlet bases
- UV stabilised grades for long exposure in the field
- Short residence time to avoid POM degradation and burn marks
- Stable shot weight across multi-cavity nozzle and arm moulds
Recommended Machine for Sprinklers
Nozzles, arms and small bearing parts are light, so the E Series (75-180 T) runs them in multi-cavity tools. Larger sprinkler bodies, glass-filled nylon bodies with threaded bases or family moulds carrying several components need more mould space and shot capacity. For those, look at the C Series (140-320 T), and at the H Series (120-350 T) for the heaviest bodies.

FAQs / Buyer Questions
Questions sprinkler manufacturers ask before choosing a moulding machine.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Sprinklers?
A horizontal machine is chosen per component. Small nozzles and arms usually fit the E Series, while large bodies, glass-filled grades or family moulds move up to the C or H Series depending on mould size and shot weight. Why Are Sprinkler Nozzles and Arms Moulded in POM?
POM holds dimensions well, wears slowly against moving parts and resists water. It needs a well-vented mould and controlled melt temperature, since overheated POM degrades and leaves burn marks near the end of fill.Does Nylon Need Drying Before Moulding Sprinkler Bodies?
Yes. Nylon is hygroscopic, and wet material gives splay, bubbles and brittle parts. A hopper or desiccant dryer is used before moulding, and material should not sit in the barrel for long during stoppages.
How Are Threaded Sprinkler Bases Moulded?
Internal threads are released with an unscrewing or collapsible core, and external threads with split slides. The thread release method affects mould height and ejection, so share the drawing before the machine is chosen. Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Sprinkler?
Yes. Share the component drawings or samples, the material of each part, part weights, mould dimensions, cavities per mould and your production quantity, and Pratishna Engineers will suggest suitable machines.Does the Machine Suit Other Irrigation Parts Too?
Yes. With the right mould, the same machines can produce micro-sprinklers and micro-jets, venturi fertilizer injectors, irrigation valves and screen or disc filter housings.
