Injection Moulding Machine for Baby Sippers

Baby sippers are made on horizontal injection moulding machines from food-grade PP, Tritan copolyester or PPSU, with cup body, lid and handles in separate moulds. Machine size follows the cup body projected area, its depth and the melt temperature of the resin. Drying matters most on clear Tritan and PPSU cups.

Selection for sippers looks at drying and barrel heating for the chosen resin, enough mould opening for a deep cup, and stable clear parts. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for baby sipper production and can recommend a configuration for your cup, lid and handle set.

Machine Requirements for Baby Sipper Moulding

A sipper is a set of rigid parts, cup body, screw lid and handles, with the silicone spout fitted later. The machine needs:

  • Dryer sized for hygroscopic Tritan and PPSU
  • Barrel heating and screw suited to high-temperature PPSU
  • Mould temperature control for gloss on clear cup bodies
  • Opening stroke for deep cup cores and clean ejection
  • Accurate threads on cup and lid for a leak-free closure
  • Clamping force sized to the cup body projected area

Recommended Machine for Baby Sippers

Sipper lids and handles are small and often run in multi-cavity moulds on the E Series (75-180 T). Cup bodies are deeper and heavier, so larger cups or multi-cavity body moulds may need the H Series (120-350 T) or C Series (140-320 T) for shot capacity, mould height and opening stroke.

FAQs / Buyer Questions

What sipper makers usually want to know before buying a machine.

  • Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Baby Sippers?
Most sipper parts suit machines in the E, C or H Series. Selection depends on whether the machine will run small lids and handles or the deeper cup body, and on the shot weight of the body mould.
  • Do Tritan and PPSU Need Drying Before Moulding?
Yes. Both pick up moisture and show splay, bubbles or brittleness if moulded wet. A dehumidifying dryer, dry handling to the hopper and a controlled residence time in the barrel keep clear cups free of streaks.
  • How Is the Silicone Spout or Straw Made?
Spouts and straws are silicone parts moulded separately by LSR processing and fitted at assembly. Machines on this page cover the rigid PP, Tritan or PPSU parts. Overmoulded silicone versions can be discussed on request.
  • How Do You Avoid Flow Lines on a Clear Sipper Cup?
Gate position, injection speed and mould temperature decide how clean a clear cup looks. A gate at the base centre, a polished cavity and good venting reduce flow lines, weld lines and burn marks.
  • Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Baby Sipper?
Yes. Share drawings or samples of each sipper part, the resin grade, part weights, mould sizes, cavity counts and monthly volume, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine.
  • Does the Machine Suit Other Feeding Products Too?
Often, yes. The same machines can mould feeding bottle bodies, snack cups, suction bowls and baby spoons, with the screw and mould set up for each material.
