Injection Moulding Machine for Baby Stroller and Pram Parts

Baby stroller and pram parts are made on horizontal injection moulding machines, with folding joints in glass-filled PA, wheels and pivots in POM, and trays and covers in PP or ABS. Part size runs from small bushes to large trays, so mould size and shot weight vary widely. Drying of glass-filled nylon matters most for joint strength.

For stroller parts, machine selection follows the material in each part: a wear-resistant screw and barrel for glass-filled PA, steady melt temperature for POM and gloss control for ABS covers. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for these parts and can recommend a configuration.

Machine Requirements for Stroller and Pram Part Moulding

Stroller parts carry load, fold and roll, and each material brings its own moulding needs. Plan the machine around:

  • Wear-resistant screw and barrel for glass-filled PA joints
  • Thorough drying of nylon before moulding
  • Weld lines kept away from pivot pin holes
  • POM wheels and bushes with tight shrinkage control
  • Gloss and colour match on ABS handle covers
  • Mould height and platen area for seat shells and trays

Recommended Machine for Stroller and Pram Parts

Hinges, locks, bushes and small wheels suit the E Series (75-180 T), often in family moulds. Larger wheels, bumper bars and handle covers move to the C Series (140-320 T), and seat shells or footrest trays to the H Series (120-350 T). Larger moulds, such as full seat units, are taken up on request.

FAQs / Buyer Questions

Practical answers for stroller and pram part makers.

  • Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Stroller Parts?
It depends on the part. Small joints and bushes run on E Series machines, while larger wheels, trays and seat shells need the C or H Series, chosen by projected area and mould height.
  • Why Do Glass-Filled Nylon Stroller Joints Crack?
Common causes are moisture in undried PA, a weld line across a pin hole, or fibre breakage from high back pressure. Drying to the supplier data sheet and moving the gate often solve it.
  • What Screw Is Needed for Glass-Filled PA Parts?
Glass fibre wears a standard screw, check ring and barrel quickly. A wear-resistant or bimetallic screw and barrel is chosen for glass-filled grades, and wear parts are checked during maintenance.
  • How Are POM Stroller Wheels Kept Round?
POM shrinks more than many plastics, so even wall thickness, a central gate and good holding pressure count. Venting needs care too, since trapped gas can leave burn marks at the end of fill.
  • Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Stroller Part?
Yes. Share drawings or samples, material and grade, part weight, mould dimensions, cavities and target output for each part, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a machine.
  • Does the Machine Suit Other Baby Gear Parts Too?
Yes. The same machines can mould baby carrier buckles, baby chair parts, potty bodies and milk powder containers, subject to each mould.
