Injection Moulding Machine for Mascara Tubes, Lip Gloss Tubes and Wands

Mascara tubes, lip gloss tubes and their wands are made on horizontal injection moulding machines, usually in multi-cavity moulds, from PP, SAN, ABS and PBT. Machine size follows the cavity count, shot weight and the mould height a long tube core needs. Core cooling and core-shift control on the deep, thin tube wall matter most.

For this set of parts, machine selection centres on repeatable shot control for the wiper and stem fits, enough opening stroke for long cores and steady mould cooling. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal and hybrid injection moulding machines for mascara and lip gloss components and can recommend a configuration.

Machine Requirements for Mascara and Lip Gloss Tube Moulding

A mascara or lip gloss pack is several small mating parts, and most of the machine choice comes from the tube and the wiper fit:

  • Repeatable shot and hold for the wiper interference fit
  • Opening stroke and daylight for long, deep tube cores
  • Core cooling and support to stop tube wall core shift
  • Full venting and fine detail for moulded-bristle wands
  • Drying before moulding PBT, ABS and SAN parts
  • Clear SAN tubes free of flow lines and splay

Recommended Machine for Mascara Tubes and Wands

Tubes, wipers, stems and caps are small parts, so tonnage follows the cavity count and the mould height a long tube core needs. The Hybrid PH Series (120-140 T) gives electric injection for tight wiper and stem fits. The E Series (75-180 T) suits most tube and cap moulds, while the H Series (120-350 T) takes high-cavity tools with larger mould plates.

FAQs / Buyer Questions

Questions buyers ask when they plan mascara and lip gloss tube moulding.

  • Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Mascara Tubes and Wands?
A horizontal machine in the smaller tonnage bands handles these parts. Wipers and stems with tight fits often go on the Hybrid PH Series, tube and cap moulds on the E Series, and high-cavity tools on the H Series.
  • Why Does the Wiper Decide How Much Product the Wand Picks Up?
The wiper scrapes surplus mascara or gloss off the wand as it is pulled out. Its bore against the stem is an interference fit, so a small shrinkage change alters payout. Stable hold pressure and mould temperature matter more here than extra tonnage.
  • Can Moulded-Bristle Wands Be Made on These Machines?
Yes, when the bristles are part of the moulding. That needs a fine-detail tool with full venting so the thin bristles fill without burn marks. Twisted-wire brushes with fibre bristles are assembled on wire machines and are not injection moulded.
  • How Is a Clear Lip Gloss Tube Kept Free of Marks?
Clear SAN shows every flaw. Dry the resin, polish the core and cavity, and gate so that flow lines and weld lines stay off the visible wall. Moisture left in the granules shows as silver splay on the finished tube.
  • Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Mascara Tube?
Yes. Share the tube, wiper, wand and cap drawings or samples, the materials, part weights, mould sizes, cavity counts and monthly volume, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine.
  • Does the Machine Suit Other Cosmetic Packaging Parts Too?
Yes. Similar machines can mould lipstick cases, caps and closures for cosmetic bottles, roll-on balls and collars, and deodorant stick containers, depending on each mould.
