Injection Moulding Machine for Distribution Board Enclosures and Covers
Distribution board enclosures and covers are moulded on mid to large horizontal injection moulding machines from ABS, PC or other flame-retardant thermoplastics. Board size in ways, enclosure depth and projected area of the cover decide clamping force and mould height. Large flat covers must stay flat and glossy, so cooling and gating are planned with care.
For DB enclosures, machine selection is driven by the biggest board in the range, the mould daylight it needs and the cosmetic finish. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for DB enclosure production and can recommend a configuration for your enclosure moulds.

Machine Requirements for DB Enclosure Moulding
A distribution board enclosure is large, flat and on show, with knockouts, DIN rail mounts and a cover that must close evenly. Machine points:
- Clamping force for large projected area of covers
- Mould height and opening stroke for deep enclosures
- Gate layout that keeps weld lines off the front face
- Even cooling to control warpage on wide covers
- Drying for PC and flame-retardant ABS grades
- Clear PC doors and windows without flow lines
Recommended Machine for Distribution Board Enclosures and Covers
Small and mid-size boards fit the C Series (140-320 T). Larger boards with deep bases, wide covers or family moulds for base and cover need the H Series (120-350 T), and the biggest sizes are checked against the mould. Doors, small covers and blanking strips can run on the E Series (75-180 T).

FAQs / Buyer Questions
Machine questions from distribution board enclosure makers.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Distribution Board Enclosures and Covers?
Mid to large horizontal machines. The C Series suits many small and mid boards, the H Series takes large boards and family moulds, and the E Series can run doors and small covers. How Is Clamping Force Worked Out for a DB Cover?
Multiply the projected area of the cover and runner by the cavity pressure for the grade, then add a margin. Wide covers raise the figure quickly, so share the largest size early. Why Do Large DB Covers Warp or Show Weld Lines?
Uneven wall thickness and cooling cause warpage, and flow fronts meeting around knockouts and windows leave weld lines. Gate position, mould temperature and even walls control both.
Can a Clear Door Be Moulded for the Board?
Yes. Clear doors and windows are usually PC. Dry the PC well and keep the mould clean, as moisture and flow lines show plainly on a transparent part. Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My DB Enclosure?
Yes. Share drawings or samples of base, cover and door, board sizes, material grade, part weights, mould dimensions and monthly volume, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine.Does the Machine Suit Other Electrical Building Products Too?
Yes. The same machines can mould junction boxes, MCB housings, modular switch plates and trunking accessories, subject to mould size.
