Injection Moulding Machine for Trolley Wheels
Trolley wheels are moulded on mid-size horizontal injection moulding machines from PA6, glass-filled PA6, HDPE or PP. Wheel diameter, rim thickness and shot weight decide the machine, since a thick rim needs a large shot and long hold. Bearing seat concentricity is the critical point, because it decides whether the wheel runs true under load.
Larger wheels need enough shot capacity and holding pressure to pack thick rims without voids. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for trolley wheel production and can recommend a machine from your wheel drawing and load rating.

Machine Requirements for Trolley Wheel Moulding
Trolley wheels carry heavier loads than furniture castors, so the press needs to handle:
- Shot weight and screw size for thick wheel rims
- Long holding pressure to pack rims without voids
- Cored and ribbed rim and spoke design in the tool
- Concentric bearing seat held across every shot
- Glass-filled PA6 with a wear-resistant screw and barrel
- Drying and moisture conditioning for nylon wheels
Recommended Machine for Trolley Wheels
Small utility trolley wheels fit the E Series (75-180 T). Mid-size wheels and family tools are matched to the C Series (140-320 T). Large-diameter platform trolley wheels go to the H Series (120-350 T), as they need more shot weight and platen space. Match the screw to the material, with a wear-resistant set for glass-filled nylon.

FAQs / Buyer Questions
Answers for trolley and cart wheel makers choosing a press.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Trolley Wheels?
Horizontal machines from the E to the H Series cover many trolley wheels, chosen on wheel diameter and shot weight. Large platform wheels need the bigger shot capacity and platens of the H Series. Why Do Trolley Wheels Have Voids in the Rim?
Thick rims shrink as they cool, and without enough packing a void forms at the centre. Coring the rim, adding ribs and holding pressure for long enough stop voids that weaken the wheel. Why Does a Nylon Wheel Change Size After Moulding?
PA6 absorbs moisture and grows slightly, so a bearing seat gauged straight from the mould can tighten later. Gauge seats after conditioning, and dry the nylon before moulding to prevent splay and brittle wheels.
Is Glass-Filled Nylon Needed for Trolley Wheels?
Glass-filled PA6 raises stiffness and creep resistance for heavy loads. It wears the screw, barrel and check ring, so a bimetallic or wear-resistant set is advised. HDPE and PP suit lighter trolleys. Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Trolley Wheel?
Yes. Share the wheel drawing or sample, material, load rating, shot weight, mould dimensions and volume, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine and screw.Does the Machine Suit Other Wheel and Hardware Parts Too?
Yes. The same machines can mould single-material caster wheels, furniture legs and glides, storage crate lids and modular storage parts, depending on the mould.
