Injection Moulding Machine for Garment Hangers
Garment hangers are made on horizontal injection moulding machines from PP copolymer, HIPS, ABS or recycled PP, in single or multi-cavity moulds. Mould width, the long flow path to the shoulder tips and injection capacity decide machine size more than clamping force. A short shot at the shoulder tip is the defect to design against.
Selection for hangers focuses on injection speed and pressure to fill thin arms end to end, and on tie-bar space for wide moulds. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for hanger production and can recommend a configuration for your hanger design and resin.

Machine Requirements for Garment Hanger Moulding
Hangers are long, thin and loaded for weeks on a rail, so fill and creep matter more than the part weight suggests. Points to check:
- Fast fill to the shoulder tips without short shots
- Venting at the arm ends where air traps
- Tie-bar spacing that accepts a wide hanger mould
- Resin judged on creep under load, not impact alone
- Moulded-in hook or a steel hook insert
- Recycled PP blends qualified before production
Recommended Machine for Garment Hangers
Hanger moulds are wide rather than heavy, so platen size and injection rate often matter as much as tonnage. The E Series (75-180 T) suits smaller hangers and single-cavity tools, the C Series (140-320 T) covers wider moulds and more cavities, and the H Series (120-350 T) handles large multi-cavity tools and heavier suit hangers.

FAQs / Buyer Questions
Answers hanger makers often need before buying a machine.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Garment Hangers?
A horizontal machine with enough platen width and injection rate for a long, thin part. E Series machines take smaller hanger moulds, while the C and H Series take wider tools, more cavities and heavier suit or coat hangers. Why Do Hangers Short-Shot at the Shoulder Tip?
The shoulder tip sits at the end of a long thin flow path, so the melt cools before it arrives. Faster injection, a central gate with balanced flow both ways, good venting at the tips and the right melt temperature usually fix it.Can Recycled PP Be Used for Hangers?
Yes, recycled PP is common in hangers, but it changes melt flow and shrinkage from lot to lot. Qualify each blend on a trial before production, and expect to reset injection speed, holding pressure and cooling.
Should the Hook Be Moulded In or Fitted in Metal?
Both are used. A moulded hook keeps the hanger one piece, while a steel hook is loaded as an insert for heavier garments. Insert loading lengthens the cycle and needs a secure locating feature in the mould. Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Garment Hanger?
Yes. Share the hanger sample or drawing, resin and recycled share, hook type, mould dimensions, cavity count and monthly quantity, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine.Does the Machine Suit Other Garment Parts Too?
Machines in this range can also run tag pin clips, collar stay and shirt support tools, and belt hardware, subject to the mould. Buttons and snaps often sit better on smaller machines.
