Injection Moulding Machine for Tag Pins, Seals and Label Fasteners
Tag pins, seals and label fasteners are made on horizontal injection moulding machines in very high-cavity moulds, usually from PP or PA6, with PE for some seals. Pins are moulded as continuous clips on a runner bar that feeds the tagging gun. Cycle time decides the business case, and break-off force at the pin root is the specification.
Selection focuses on fast cycles and clean ejection of long, flat clips without bending pins, with the mould built around the clip format the gun accepts. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for tag pin production and can recommend a configuration for your clip and seal tools.

Machine Requirements for Tag Pin and Label Fastener Moulding
On a tag pin clip the runner bar is part of the product, so the tool, fill and ejection are all set around it. Points to check:
- Even fill to the last pin on the bar
- Consistent break-off force at every pin root
- Flat ejection of the clip without bent pins
- Clip pitch held to suit the tagging gun
- PA6 conditioned so fine pins do not snap
- Very short cycle with a high cavity count
Recommended Machine for Tag Pins and Label Fasteners
Each clip is light but long, so mould width and an even fill along the bar count as much as clamping force. The E Series (75-180 T) suits many tag pin and seal moulds. Wider tools carrying several clips per shot, or very high-cavity layouts, are better placed on the H Series (120-350 T).

FAQs / Buyer Questions
Answers to questions tag pin and seal makers bring to our engineers.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Tag Pins?
A horizontal machine sized for wide, light clip moulds and short cycles. E Series machines handle typical tag pin and seal tools, and the H Series takes larger moulds with more clips or cavities per shot. Why Is the Runner Bar Kept With the Pins?
The bar holds the pins at the spacing the tagging gun indexes, so it is moulded as part of the clip and not cut off as scrap. Its section, gate positions and ejection are designed so the clip feeds cleanly. What Controls Break-Off Force at the Pin Root?
Each pin joins the bar at a narrow neck, and that neck sets how easily the gun separates it. Short shots, flash or uneven packing at that neck change the force, so fill balance and holding pressure must stay steady along the whole bar.
Which Material Suits Tag Pins, PP or PA6?
PP is common for standard pins and is simple to process. PA6 gives finer, stronger pins for delicate fabrics but absorbs moisture, so it is dried before moulding and then conditioned so pins are not brittle in the gun.Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Tag Pin?
Yes. Share the clip sample or drawing, tagging gun type, pin length range, material, mould dimensions, pins per clip and daily output, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine.Does the Machine Suit Other Garment Parts Too?
Yes. Collar stays, shirt clips, plastic buttons and snap fasteners can run on the same class of machine, subject to each mould.
