Injection Moulding Machine for Zipper Sliders, Pullers and Moulded Tooth Chain
Plastic zipper sliders and pullers are made on horizontal injection moulding machines, while moulded tooth chain is moulded straight onto the tape on a dedicated zipper-chain machine. Slider size, cavity count and side cores set the machine for sliders. For chain, POM tooth shape and pitch along the tape decide whether the zip runs smoothly.
Selection starts by splitting the heading into its three parts, since each runs differently. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for plastic sliders and pull tabs, builds special purpose machines to application for tooth chain, and can recommend a configuration for your zip range.

Machine Requirements for Zipper Slider, Puller and Chain Moulding
Sliders, pullers and chain each load the machine in a different way. The points that usually decide the choice:
- Side cores to form the Y-shaped channel in sliders
- No flash in the slider channel, which jams the chain
- Even tooth size along the tape for smooth running
- Polished or textured faces on branded pull tabs
- PA66 dried before moulding sliders and pull tabs
- Tape feed and indexing built into a chain machine
Recommended Machine for Zipper Sliders, Pullers and Chain
Plastic sliders and pull tabs are small parts, so the E Series (75-180 T) suits many slider and puller moulds, and the H Series (120-350 T) takes larger multi-cavity or family tools. Moulded tooth chain needs a machine built to application around tape feed and indexing, and Pratishna Engineers builds special purpose machines to application.

FAQs / Buyer Questions
What zip makers ask when planning slider, puller and chain moulding.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Zipper Sliders and Pullers?
Standard horizontal machines in the E Series band handle plastic sliders and pull tabs, with the H Series for bigger tools. Tooth chain is a separate job for a special purpose machine that moulds onto the tape. Are Zipper Sliders Plastic or Metal?
Many sliders are die-cast zinc. Plastic sliders in POM or PA66 are used where a corrosion-free or lightweight zip is wanted. Pull tabs are often moulded in ABS, PC or POM even where the slider is metal. Why Is POM Used for Moulded Zipper Teeth?
POM is stiff, low in friction and holds its shape, so teeth engage cleanly and the slider runs without sticking. Tooth size has to stay even along the tape, which depends on steady melt temperature, injection and cooling.
What Causes a Moulded Slider to Jam?
Flash inside the channel, a mismatched side core or sink in the channel wall can catch the teeth. Well-fitted side cores and steady holding pressure keep the channel clean and true to size. Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Zipper Parts?
Yes. Share slider, puller or chain samples or drawings, materials, zip sizes, mould dimensions, cavity count and monthly quantity, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a standard or special purpose machine.Does the Machine Suit Other Garment Parts Too?
Yes. The standard machines used for sliders and pullers also suit cord stoppers, snap fasteners, belt adjusters and lingerie hooks, subject to each mould.
