Injection Moulding Machine for Spouts, Pourers and Vented Closures
Spouts, pourers and vented closures for industrial cans are moulded on horizontal injection moulding machines, typically in multi-cavity tools, from HDPE, PP or flexible LDPE. Cavity count, the number of separate parts per closure and undercuts on the spout decide machine size. Even wall thickness in pleated or telescoping spout sections matters most.
Selection for spout closures balances small shot weights, steady fill of thin flexible sections and mould space for undercut release. Pratishna Engineers can supply horizontal injection moulding machines for spout and pourer work and recommend a machine for each part in the closure.

Machine Requirements for Spout and Pourer Moulding
One pouring function can take three moulded parts, each with its own fit and seal. The machine should give:
- Even fill of thin pleated or telescoping spout walls
- LDPE processing for flexible spouts that bend without splitting
- Accurate vent channels kept free of flash
- Living hinges filled in one direction for long life
- Repeatable shot weight across small multi-cavity tools
- Release of thread and snap undercuts without stress whitening
Recommended Machine for Spouts, Pourers and Vented Closures
Spouts, pourers, dust caps and vent inserts are small parts, so the E Series (75-180 T) handles most of these moulds. Higher-cavity hot runner tools, or larger spout bodies with side actions, can move to the H Series (120-350 T). Every part in the closure set gets its own mould and is sized on its own.

FAQs / Buyer Questions
Questions from makers of pouring and venting closures for industrial cans.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Spouts and Pourers?
Most spout, pourer and vent closure moulds fit the E Series, chosen by cavity count and part size. The H Series is for high-cavity tools or larger spout bodies with side actions in the mould. Why Does a Withdrawable Spout Need Several Moulded Parts?
A flexible or withdrawable spout combines a spout with a living hinge or telescoping section, a closure and a dust cap. Each is a separate moulding, and leak performance is tested with all of them on the container. Why Is Venting Built Into the Closure?
A vent lets air in as liquid pours, which stops glugging, and relieves pressure build-up with solvent fills. Vent channels must mould clean, since flash or a short shot there blocks the airflow.
Which Material Suits a Flexible Spout?
LDPE is used where the spout must bend or pull out without cracking, while HDPE and PP suit rigid pourers and caps. Degassing membrane versions add a separate assembly step after moulding. Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Spout or Pourer?
Yes. Share drawings of each part, material, cavities per mould, undercuts or side actions, mould dimensions and output target, and Pratishna Engineers will suggest a machine.Does the Machine Suit Other Container Closures Too?
Yes. These machines also run jerry-can caps, drum bungs, pail handle grips and dispensing taps, subject to cavity count and mould size.
