Injection Moulding Machine for Respirator Valve Seats and Diaphragm Carriers

Exhalation and inhalation valve seats and diaphragm carriers come off horizontal injection moulding machines in PP, POM or PC, in high-cavity moulds for respirators. Cavity count and tiny shot weights set machine size, not part size. Seat flatness matters most, as it decides breathing resistance and leak performance.

For valve seats, machine selection is about small shots held steady across many cavities, flat seat faces and clean spokes. Pratishna Engineers offers hybrid and horizontal injection moulding machines for valve seat moulding and can recommend a configuration for your tool.

Machine Requirements for Valve Seat and Diaphragm Carrier Moulding

Valve seats and carriers are tiny parts, yet one drifting cavity can fail a whole respirator batch. The machine should give:

  • Precise small shots on a correctly sized screw
  • Tight cavity-to-cavity consistency in high-cavity tools
  • Flat seat faces free of sink and flash
  • Balanced hot runner filling to every cavity
  • Clean spokes and pin holes for diaphragm location
  • Dry PC and well-vented POM against splay and burns

Recommended Machine for Valve Seats and Diaphragm Carriers

Shot weight is tiny, so a screw sized for small shots matters more than tonnage. The Hybrid PH Series (120-140 T) suits high-cavity hot runner tools where electric injection helps repeatability. Smaller seat and carrier moulds are sized to the E Series (75-180 T), and the H Series (120-350 T) covers larger high-cavity or family tools.

FAQs / Buyer Questions

Questions respirator part moulders ask about small valve components and cavity control.

  • Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Valve Seats and Diaphragm Carriers?
Small seat moulds usually fit the E Series, with a screw sized for the low shot weight. High-cavity hot runner tools often suit the Hybrid PH Series, and the largest family tools go to the H Series.
  • Is the Diaphragm Moulded With the Seat?
No. A diaphragm is an elastomer or silicone part made separately and fitted to the carrier. The thermoplastic moulding covers the seat, carrier, cover and spokes that hold the diaphragm in place.
  • Why Does Cavity Consistency Matter So Much?
Every respirator is fit-tested, and one drifting cavity can produce a run of valves that leak or breathe hard. Balance the hot runner, track part weight by cavity and set aside any cavity that drifts.
  • What Causes a Valve Seat to Leak?
Sink or warpage on the seat face, flash at the parting line and a gate vestige standing proud of the surface. Keep the gate off the sealing face and hold packing pressure steady so every seat stays flat.
  • Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Valve Seat?
Yes. Share seat and carrier drawings or samples, material, part weight, mould size, cavity count, runner type and monthly volume, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a machine.
  • Does the Machine Suit Other Small Respirator Parts Too?
Yes. Bayonet connectors and cartridge housings, half-mask respirator rigid parts, spectacle temples and visor pivot parts run on similar machines, subject to mould and cavity count.
