Injection Moulding Machine for Trolley Handle Grips and End Caps
Soft-touch trolley handle grips and end caps are made on two-shot injection moulding machines, with a rigid ABS, PC/ABS or glass-filled nylon core and a TPE or TPU outer layer. Grip length, second-shot volume and cavity count set the machine. Bonding between core and soft layer matters most, and it is checked by peel test.
Selection depends on whether the soft layer is overmoulded or the grip is moulded in one rigid material. Pratishna Engineers builds special purpose machines for two-shot grips and supplies horizontal machines for single-material grips and end caps.

Machine Requirements for Trolley Handle Grip Moulding
The grip is the first part a shopper touches and it also takes the pulling load, so finish and strength both count. Look at:
- Two injection units for the rigid core and soft layer
- Core resin and TPE or TPU chosen as a bonding pair
- Shut-off edges that stop TPE flash onto the core
- Drying of nylon, PC/ABS and TPU before moulding
- Solid bosses for rivets or screws into the handle tube
- Even texture and gloss on the visible grip face
Recommended Machine for Trolley Handle Grips
Grips with an overmoulded soft layer need a special purpose machine built to application. Rigid single-material grips and end caps run on the E Series (75-180 T), while the H Series (120-350 T) takes longer grip moulds or tools with more cavities.

FAQs / Buyer Questions
What luggage makers ask before they mould soft-touch handle grips.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Trolley Handle Grips?
Soft-touch grips need a two-shot machine built to application. A rigid grip or end cap without the soft layer runs on a standard horizontal machine, E Series for most tools and H Series for longer grips.Which Materials Bond Well for a Soft-Touch Grip?
The rigid core is usually ABS, PC/ABS or glass-filled nylon, overmoulded with a TPE or TPU grade made to bond to that resin. Each pairing should be proven by peel test before production starts. Why Do Trolley Grips Crack at the Bosses?
The grip passes the pulling load into the handle tube through rivet or screw bosses. Thin bosses, sink or voids there crack under repeated pulling, so wall section and holding pressure at the bosses need attention.
Can the Grip Be Made Without a Two-Shot Machine?
Yes. Standard horizontal machines can run a rigid grip with a textured surface, or a soft sleeve moulded separately and assembled. Bonding the soft layer to the core is what needs two-shot moulding. Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Trolley Handle Grip?
Yes. Share the grip and end cap drawings or samples, core and soft-touch materials, part weights, mould dimensions, cavities and monthly volume, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine.Does the Machine Suit Other Soft-Touch Luggage Parts Too?
Yes. A two-shot machine built to application can also suit overmoulded luggage wheels and soft zip pull tabs, and the standard series covers trolley components and bag feet, subject to the mould.
