Injection Moulding Machine for Bulk Container and IBC Accessory Parts

Bulk container and IBC accessory parts, such as corner guards, lid latches and drain fittings, are moulded on horizontal injection moulding machines from HDPE, PP copolymer or glass-filled PA6. Part size, cavity count and any unscrewing cores for threads set the machine. Drain fittings carry a seal, so groove and thread accuracy decide leak performance.

The container itself is usually blow or rotomoulded, so machine selection here covers only the fittings around it: thread accuracy, sealing faces and UV-stabilised outdoor grades. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for IBC fittings and can recommend a configuration.

Machine Requirements for IBC Accessory Part Moulding

These fittings mount on a large tank, and the drain and valve parts have to seal under the weight of its contents. Points to check:

  • Seal groove and thread held to tolerance
  • Unscrewing or collapsible cores for threaded fittings
  • UV stabilised HDPE or PP for outdoor yard storage
  • Dried glass-filled PA6 for lid latches and clamps
  • Flash-free sealing faces at the parting line
  • Opening stroke for deep drain bodies and corner guards

Recommended Machine for Bulk Container and IBC Accessory Parts

Small latches, caps and valve parts run on the E Series (75-180 T), often in multi-cavity tools. Drain fittings with unscrewing cores need more mould space, which points to the H Series (120-350 T). Larger corner guards can also run on the C Series (140-320 T). The container body is outside injection moulding scope.

FAQs / Buyer Questions

What IBC and bulk container fitting makers ask our engineers.

  • Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make IBC Accessory Parts?
Fitting size and mould type decide it. Latches and small valve parts fit the E Series, while unscrewing drain moulds and larger corner guards move to the C or H Series.
  • Is the IBC Container Itself Injection Moulded?
Usually not. Large bulk containers are blow moulded or rotomoulded. Corner guards, lid latches, drain and valve fittings are the injection moulded parts, made in separate tools.
  • Why Do IBC Drain Fittings Leak?
Leaks usually trace back to the seal groove or thread. Flash at the parting line, shrinkage that moves the groove, or a thread distorted by early ejection all stop the seal seating evenly.
  • Do Outdoor IBC Fittings Need UV-stabilised Material?
Yes, for containers stored in open yards. UV stabilisation comes through the grade or a masterbatch, and its let-down has to stay consistent, including when regrind is used.
  • Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My IBC Fitting?
Yes. Share the fitting drawings, seal design, thread type, material, part weights, cavity plan and mould dimensions, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a machine.
  • Does the Machine Suit Other Material Handling Parts Too?
Yes. Container handles, foldable crate latches, pallet feet and castor wheel hubs can run on the same class of machine, depending on the mould.
