Injection Moulding Machine for Pet Grooming Brushes and Combs
Pet grooming brushes, combs and deshedding tools are made on injection moulding machines from ABS, PP or PA6, with soft TPE grips added by two-shot moulding. Machine size follows body length, cavity count and the second material. Hole quality matters most: pin and tuft holes must come out round and burr-free so assembly runs cleanly.
Machine selection depends on whether the grip is moulded as a second shot or fitted separately. For two-shot brushes, Pratishna Engineers builds special purpose machines to application. It also supplies horizontal machines for single-material bodies and combs, and can recommend a configuration.

Machine Requirements for Grooming Brush and Comb Moulding
Brush bodies carry pins, blades or bristles and often a soft grip, so the machine and mould must provide:
- Round, burr-free pin and tuft holes for insertion
- Strong bond between rigid body and soft TPE grip
- Flash-free shut-offs where the TPE meets the core
- Dried PA6 for comb teeth and blade holders
- Accurate slides for self-cleaning retraction mechanisms
- Straight comb teeth without warpage or short shots at tips
Recommended Machine for Grooming Brushes and Combs
A two-shot brush with a bonded TPE grip needs a machine that handles both materials, which Pratishna Engineers can build to application as a special purpose injection moulding machine. Single-material bodies, combs and separate grips run on the E Series (75-180 T). Long deshedding tools, family moulds or high cavity counts can move up to C Series (140-320 T) or H Series (120-350 T) machines.

FAQs / Buyer Questions
What brush and comb makers ask about bodies, grips and teeth.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Grooming Brushes?
Single-material combs and brush bodies run on a horizontal E Series machine, with the C or H Series for larger tools. Brushes with a moulded-on soft grip need a two-shot special purpose machine. How Are Pins and Bristles Fitted to a Moulded Brush?
Wire pins, steel blades and bristle tufts are inserted or assembled after moulding. The holes must be round, sized right and free of flash, or pins sit crooked and tufts pull out.Can the Soft Grip Be Added Without a Two-Shot Machine?
Yes. A TPE grip can be moulded separately and fitted, or overmoulded in a second mould after the body is loaded by hand or robot. Whichever route is used, test grip pull-off on the chosen material pair.
What Makes Comb Teeth Hard to Mould?
Long thin teeth fill last and cool fast, so short shots and bent teeth are common faults. Gating from the spine, venting at each tip, even cooling and careful ejection keep teeth straight and full. Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Grooming Brush?
Yes. Share drawings or samples of the body, grip and comb, materials, how pins or bristles are fitted, mould size, cavities and monthly quantity. Pratishna Engineers will suggest a standard series or a special purpose build.Does the Machine Suit Other Pet Care Parts Too?
The standard series can also mould litter scoops, collar buckles, pet toys and cage fittings. Two-material toys and grips are handled as special purpose builds.
