Injection Moulding Machine for Pet Feeder Hoppers, Lids and Dispensing Parts
Pet feeder hoppers, lids and dispensing parts come off horizontal injection moulding machines in PP copolymer, ABS or clear PC, each part in its own mould. Hopper size sets the clamping force, while the dispensing wheel needs close tolerance. Surface finish matters most where kibble moves, since rough or sharp edges cause bridging and jams.
Machine selection for feeders depends on the largest part in the set, usually the hopper or base, plus precise shots for small dispensing parts. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for feeder production and can recommend a configuration for each mould.

Machine Requirements for Pet Feeder Part Moulding
An automatic or gravity feeder is a set of mouldings that must work together, so the machine needs:
- Dried PC and a polished mould for clear hoppers
- Repeatable shot size for dispensing wheel vanes and chutes
- Smooth, burr-free kibble paths with no flash on edges
- Opening stroke for deep hopper bodies and lids
- Food-contact grades for every part the kibble touches
- Snap fits and hinge lugs that hold size after shrinkage
Recommended Machine for Pet Feeder Parts
Dispensing wheels, chutes and small lids fit the E Series (75-180 T). Hoppers, bases and large lids need more clamping force and stroke, so they go on C Series (140-320 T) and H Series (120-350 T) machines. A feeder set is often split across two machine sizes so the small precision parts are not run on an oversized press.

FAQs / Buyer Questions
Answers to what feeder makers ask while planning their tools.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Pet Feeder Parts?
Each part is matched separately. Small vanes, chutes and lids suit the E Series, and the hopper and base usually go on a C or H Series machine sized to their projected area and depth. Why Do Feeder Dispensers Jam?
Kibble bridges or catches when the chute is too narrow, the wall angle is too shallow, or the moulding leaves flash and sharp edges. Mould polish, clean parting lines and correct geometry matter more here than wall strength. How Is a Clear Hopper Moulded Without Marks?
Use a clarity grade of PC, dry it fully to avoid splay and streaks, and run a polished mould with the gate away from the viewing face. Keeping residence time short stops the PC from yellowing.
Do All Feeder Parts Need Food-Contact Material?
Every part the kibble touches, including the hopper, wheel, chute and bowl, should use a food-contact grade. Motor and electronics housings on automatic feeders can use other grades if they stay out of the food path. Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Pet Feeder?
Yes. Share drawings or samples for each part, materials, part weights, mould sizes, cavities and monthly volume. Pratishna Engineers will suggest which parts share a machine and which need a larger one.Does the Machine Suit Other Pet Care Parts Too?
Yes. The same machines can mould water fountain housings, pet bowls, litter box hoods and carrier fittings, subject to the size of each mould.
