Injection Moulding Machine for Small-pet Cage and Aquarium Fittings
Small-pet cage and aquarium fittings, such as cage bases, clips, exercise wheels and drinker parts, are moulded from PP, ABS, POM or PA6 on horizontal injection moulding machines. Machine size runs from small clip tools to large cage bases. Chew resistance matters most where rodents can reach, since thin exposed edges get destroyed.
Machine selection follows the largest part, often a cage base or wheel, with small precision tools for drinker valves and clips. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for these fittings and can recommend a configuration for each mould.

Machine Requirements for Small-pet Cage and Aquarium Fitting Moulding
These parts ride alongside a wire cage or glass tank, and some must seal or turn, so selection covers:
- POM drinker valve parts with flash-free sealing faces
- Round, concentric wheel hubs and bearing bores
- Hard grades and thick edges where rodents can chew
- Clips that grip wire without cracking at the root
- Clamping force and stroke for deep cage base trays
- Aquarium parts that tolerate constant water contact
Recommended Machine for Small-pet Cage and Aquarium Fittings
Clips, drinker parts, valve bodies and small aquarium fittings sit within the E Series (75-180 T), and many run in multi-cavity or family moulds. Exercise wheels, large cage bases and deep trays need more clamping force and opening stroke. The C Series (140-320 T) suits them, as does the H Series (120-350 T).

FAQs / Buyer Questions
Questions from makers who mould the plastic parts around cages and tanks.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Cage and Aquarium Fittings?
It depends on the part. Clips and drinker parts run on the E Series, while cage bases and larger wheels move up to the C or H Series for their area and depth. Why Is POM Used in Drinker Valves and Wheel Bearings?
POM is stiff, slides with low friction and holds a sealing face, so drinker valves do not drip and wheels turn quietly. Keep mould temperature even so its shrinkage stays repeatable. How Are Cage Parts Made Chew-Resistant?
Use harder resins such as ABS, POM or PA6 where teeth can reach, avoid thin exposed edges and round off lips. Soft PP or PE parts placed inside the cage tend to get chewed through.
Can One Machine Run Many Different Small Fittings?
Yes. Fittings are often grouped into family moulds or run as short batches with quick mould changes. Plan colour changes and purging, and keep cavity fill balanced so every part in a family mould fills. Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Cage or Aquarium Fitting?
Yes. Share drawings or samples of each fitting, materials, part weights, mould sizes, cavities and monthly volume. Pratishna Engineers will group the parts by machine size.Does the Machine Suit Other Pet Care Parts Too?
Yes. It can also mould pet bowls, water fountain parts, collar hardware and carrier fittings, subject to the mould.
