Injection Moulding Machine for Pump Connectors, Unions, Adaptors and Pipe Fittings
Pump connectors, unions, adaptors and pipe fittings are moulded in uPVC, CPVC, PP or glass-filled PA66 on horizontal injection moulding machines. Fitting size, cavities per tool and the cores needed for threads decide the tonnage. The sealing face and O-ring groove matter most, because the seal is made there and not on the thread.
PVC grades also bring a narrow temperature window and long holding time, so cooling usually sets the cycle. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for pump connectors and pipe fittings and can recommend one for your size range.

Machine Requirements for Pump Connector, Union and Adaptor Moulding
Connectors and unions are small pressure fittings with threads and seals, made in large numbers. Machine selection should cover:
- PVC-suited screw, barrel and temperature control for uPVC and CPVC
- Unscrewing or collapsible cores for union nuts and threads
- Flash-free sealing faces and O-ring grooves
- Cooling capacity for long holding and cooling times
- Core pull circuits for side-entry ports and tees
- Drying for glass-filled PA66 connectors
Recommended Machine for Pump Connectors, Unions, Adaptors and Pipe Fittings
Small connectors, adaptors and union parts run in multi-cavity tools on the E Series (75-180 T). Larger unions, tees and adaptors with hydraulic unscrewing suit the C Series (140-320 T). Big fittings, or high-cavity tools needing more platen area, fit the H Series (120-350 T).

FAQs / Buyer Questions
Questions pump fitting manufacturers ask before adding a machine for connectors and unions.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Pump Connectors and Unions?
Most connectors and unions are small, so lower tonnage horizontal machines run them in multi-cavity tools. Larger sizes and tools with several unscrewing cores need a middle tonnage machine with hydraulic core circuits. Why Is the PVC Fitting Cycle Longer Than for PP?
PVC has a narrow processing window and needs holding times well above ordinary plastics, so the part must cool fully before ejection. Pushing the cycle with higher temperatures risks degradation and burn marks. How Are Union Nut Threads Formed in the Mould?
Internal threads on union nuts and adaptors are formed on unscrewing or collapsible cores, and external threads on split cavities. The choice affects mould size and the core circuits the machine has to provide.
Does the Thread Seal the Pump Connector?
No. In these fittings the seal is made at the moulded face and the O-ring groove. Those features need clean shut-offs, no parting line flash and stable packing, while the thread only holds the joint together. Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Pump Connector or Union?
Yes. Share the fitting drawings or samples, material, part weights, mould sizes, unscrewing details, cavities and annual quantity, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine.Does the Machine Suit Other Pump and Pipeline Parts Too?
Yes. Similar machines can mould valve bodies, ball valve balls and stems, foot valve parts and strainer housings, depending on size and the mould.
