Injection Moulding Machine for Pipe Clips, Clamps and Brackets

Pipe clips, clamps and brackets are moulded on horizontal injection moulding machines, often in multi-cavity moulds, from PP, UPVC or nylon. Cavity count, part size and any snap arms or hinges decide the machine. Flex in the clip arms matters most, and with nylon that depends on drying before moulding and moisture pickup after.

For clips and clamps, machine selection is driven by output from many-cavity moulds and steady fill of thin arms. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for pipe clip production and can recommend a machine size for your clip range.

Machine Requirements for Pipe Clip Moulding

Pipe clips are small, high-volume parts with thin flexing sections, so the machine needs:

  • Balanced filling of thin snap arms in every cavity
  • Dryer capacity for nylon clips before moulding
  • Hot runner or tidy cold runner for many cavities
  • Ejection that frees clip arms without stress whitening
  • UV stabilised grades for clips fixed outdoors
  • Clamping force for the full multi-cavity projected area

Recommended Machine for Pipe Clips

Single clips and small saddle clamps in multi-cavity moulds fit the E Series (75-180 T). Wide brackets, large-diameter clamps, or moulds with very high cavity counts need more projected area and shot weight. For these, look at either the C Series (140-320 T) or the H Series (120-350 T). Match the machine to the cavity layout you want, not only to one clip.

FAQs / Buyer Questions

What clip and bracket makers usually ask our engineers.

  • Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Pipe Clips?
A horizontal machine sized by the cavity count and clip size. Most clip moulds sit in the E Series. Large clamps, brackets or very high-cavity moulds move up to the C or H Series.
  • Do Nylon Pipe Clips Need Drying Before Moulding?
Yes. Nylon absorbs moisture, and wet granules cause silver streaks and brittle clips. Dry the material before moulding. Freshly moulded nylon clips are also dry and stiff, and regain toughness as they pick up moisture from the air.
  • Which Material Suits Pipe Clips?
PP suits most snap and nail-in clips for plumbing lines. UPVC clips can match PVC pipe colour, and nylon is chosen where clips carry more load or need more grip. UV stabilised grades help clips fixed outdoors.
  • Can Clips for Different Pipe Sizes Share One Mould?
They can, in a family mould, if the parts are close in weight and wall so they fill together. Very different sizes fill unevenly and are better in separate moulds or with cavity shut-offs.
  • Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Pipe Clip?
Yes. Share the clip or bracket drawing, pipe sizes, material, part weight, mould dimensions, number of cavities and monthly quantity, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine.
  • Does the Machine Suit Other PVC Pipe Accessories Too?
In most cases, yes. Clamp saddles, end caps, pipe joints and threaded adaptors can run on the same machines, subject to each mould.
