Injection Moulding Machine for Pipe Fittings
Pipe fittings such as elbows, tees, reducers and unions are made on horizontal injection moulding machines in UPVC, CPVC, PPR or PP. Fitting diameter, cavity count and the number of hydraulic core pulls decide the machine. Each socket is formed by a core that must pull before ejection, and PVC grades need tight barrel heat control.
Choosing a machine for fittings means matching the largest diameter in the range to mould space, core pull circuits and shot capacity. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for elbow, tee and reducer moulding and can suggest the size and screw for each range.

Machine Requirements for Pipe Fitting Moulding
Fitting moulds carry several cores, and PVC does not tolerate overheating, so check these points on the machine:
- Several hydraulic core pull circuits with sequence control
- PVC-suited screw and barrel with corrosion protection
- Mould space and opening stroke for long socket cores
- Gating placed to keep weld lines away from sockets
- Socket sizes held for solvent cement or ring joints
- Shot capacity matched to the largest fitting diameter
Recommended Machine for Pipe Fittings
Small elbows, tees and reducers in multi-cavity moulds can run on the E Series (75-180 T). Mid-size pressure fittings and moulds with more core pulls suit the C Series (140-320 T), and the H Series (120-350 T) covers the larger fittings in this range. Large-diameter drainage fittings that need more clamping force than these series offer are discussed on request.

FAQs / Buyer Questions
Points fitting makers raise most often when planning a new machine.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Pipe Fittings?
Most fittings run on horizontal machines with hydraulic core pulls. Smaller diameters fit the E Series, mid sizes the C Series and the larger sizes in this range the H Series. Very large drainage fittings need a machine discussed separately. How Are the Cores Pulled in Elbow and Tee Moulds?
Each socket and bore is formed by a core driven by its own hydraulic cylinder or by angle pins. An elbow needs two cores, a tee three. The machine needs enough core circuits, set in the right order against mould opening and ejection. Can One Machine Run UPVC and PPR Fittings?
It can, with care. PVC and polyolefins need a thorough purge between them, and PVC wears an unprotected screw. Many plants keep separate machines for PVC and for PPR or PP to avoid contamination and long changeovers.
What Material Is Used for Pipe Fittings?
UPVC is used for cold water and drainage, CPVC for hot water lines and PPR for hot and cold plumbing. PP and ABS appear in some drainage and irrigation fittings. The screw and barrel are matched to the material. Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Pipe Fitting?
Yes. Share the fitting types and diameters, material, part weights, mould dimensions, number of cavities and core pulls, and required output, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine.Does the Machine Suit Other Plumbing Parts Too?
Yes. The same machines can mould pipe joints, end caps, threaded adaptors, flange adaptors and P-traps, subject to mould size and the core pulls each one needs.
