Injection Moulding Machine for Stapler Bodies, Magazines and Bases

Stapler bodies, magazines and bases are made on horizontal injection moulding machines from ABS, POM or glass-filled PA6, around a steel striker, anvil and magazine rail. Machine size depends on body length, parts per mould and side cores for pin bores. Hinge pin bore alignment matters most, since a misaligned pivot makes the stapler jam.

Machine selection for stapler parts centres on repeatable dimensions at the pivot and proper drying for glass-filled nylon. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for stapler body, magazine and base production and can recommend a configuration for your parts.

Machine Requirements for Stapler Body, Magazine and Base Moulding

A stapler is a tolerance part inside a low-cost product, and the moulded pivot decides whether it works. Points to check:

  • Pin bore alignment held between body and base
  • Side cores for cross holes and pivot features
  • Drying and a wear-resistant screw for glass-filled PA6
  • Stiff, flat magazine shell for a straight staple track
  • Cosmetic ABS body free of sink and flow marks
  • Consistent POM shrinkage on small pivot and latch parts

Recommended Machine for Stapler Bodies, Magazines and Bases

Stapler bodies and bases are medium-sized mouldings, and desk staplers often fit the E Series (75-180 T). Long heavy-duty bodies, family moulds that carry magazine and base together, or tools with several side cores need more platen space and tonnage, available in the H Series (120-350 T) and C Series (140-320 T).

FAQs / Buyer Questions

Answers to questions stapler makers raise before choosing a machine.

  • Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Stapler Bodies, Magazines and Bases?
Desk and pocket stapler parts usually run on the E Series. Heavy-duty bodies, long-reach staplers and family tools with several side actions are usually quoted on the C or H Series once mould size is known.
  • Which Stapler Parts Are Moulded and Which Are Steel?
The outer body, magazine shell, base and pivot parts are moulded. Striker, anvil, spring and magazine rail stay steel, because they take the staple driving and forming load directly.
  • When Is Glass-Filled Nylon Used in a Stapler?
Glass-filled PA6 is used where a moulded part carries driving load instead of a steel frame. It must be dried before moulding, and fibre orientation around the pin bores affects strength at the pivot.
  • Why Do Moulded Staplers Jam?
A common cause is hinge pin bores out of line between body and base, often from warpage or uneven shrinkage. The magazine then sits off-centre to the striker and staples fold or catch.
  • Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Stapler?
Yes. Share drawings or samples of the body, magazine and base, the materials, steel parts to be fitted, mould sizes and output, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a machine.
  • Does the Machine Suit Other Desk Stationery Parts Too?
Yes. Machines of this class can also mould punch and tape dispenser housings, pen stands, sharpeners and clipboard fittings, subject to the tool.
