Injection Moulding Machine for Textile Trolley Trays, Package Trays and Inserts

Textile trolley trays, yarn package trays and transport inserts are produced on horizontal injection moulding machines from impact-modified PP copolymer, HDPE or recycled PP. Tray footprint sets the clamping force and platen size, and tray depth sets mould height. On large flat trays, warpage is the main reject, controlled through gating, rib layout and even cooling.

Selection for these trays depends on platen area and tie-bar spacing for the footprint, shot capacity for a heavy part and enough daylight for deep trolley bins. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for textile tray production and can recommend a configuration.

Machine Requirements for Package Tray and Insert Moulding

Trays carry yarn packages through the mill and come back empty, so moulding has to cover:

  • Platen size and tie-bar spacing for the tray footprint
  • Flat trays without warp across a large area
  • Rib layout that stacks loaded without crushing packages
  • Draft and wall design that let empty trays nest
  • Impact-modified copolymer for rough handling and cold stores
  • Mould height and opening stroke for deep trolley bins

Recommended Machine for Package Trays and Inserts

Small transport inserts and compact trays can run on the E Series (75-180 T). Full package trays and trolley bins have large footprints, so they need the platen area and clamping force found on the C Series (140-320 T). The largest bins belong on the H Series (120-350 T). Tray footprint and depth, more than part weight, decide which frame suits.

FAQs / Buyer Questions

Questions mills and tray moulders ask before building a tray mould.

  • Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Textile Package Trays?
Size follows tray footprint and depth. Inserts and small trays fit the E Series, while full-size package trays and trolley bins go to the C or H Series for platen area and daylight.
  • How Are Package Trays Made to Stack and Nest?
Ribs and stacking lugs carry the load of a full tray above without pressing on the packages. Tapered walls with enough draft let empty trays nest for return, which saves space on the trolley.
  • Why Do Large Textile Trays Warp?
A large flat area cools unevenly and shrinks more in the flow direction. Several gates or hot drops, balanced cooling channels and ribs set at the right ratio to the wall keep the tray flat.
  • Which Grade Suits Rough Mill Handling?
Impact-modified PP copolymer resists knocks and keeps toughness in cold stores. HDPE is an option for impact, and recycled PP can be blended in where its lot-to-lot variation is controlled.
  • Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Package Tray or Insert?
Yes. Share the tray drawing or sample, material, part weight, footprint, depth, mould dimensions and monthly quantity, and Pratishna Engineers will suggest a suitable machine.
  • Does the Machine Suit Other Textile Mill Handling Parts Too?
Yes. It can also mould sliver can bases and rings, warp beam flanges, textile cones and fabric roll end plugs, subject to the mould.
