Injection Moulding Machine for Toy Vehicle Bodies and Chassis

Toy vehicle bodies and chassis are made on horizontal injection moulding machines, with ABS bodies and POM, PP or PA6 chassis moulded on separate tools. Body size, cavity count and mould depth set the machine. The body is a cosmetic part, so a polished tool and flow line control decide whether it can be painted or chromed.

Selection for toy vehicles balances a clean Class A face on the body with fit and strength on the chassis. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for toy vehicle body and chassis production and can recommend a configuration for each mould.

Machine Requirements for Toy Vehicle Body and Chassis Moulding

Bodies and chassis are different jobs on the same toy, so the machine needs to handle:

  • Plating-grade ABS bodies with a high-polish cosmetic face
  • Flow lines and weld lines kept off painted surfaces
  • Separate POM or PA chassis tools for axle carriers
  • Snap fits and screw bosses that align body to chassis
  • Window and wheel arch openings without flash
  • Dried ABS and PA6 to stop splay on cosmetic faces

Recommended Machine for Toy Vehicle Bodies and Chassis

Multi-cavity moulds for small car bodies and chassis suit the E Series (75-180 T). Larger trucks, playset vehicles and family moulds that pair body and chassis need the H Series (120-350 T) and C Series (140-320 T), where platen area and opening stroke suit deeper body tools.

FAQs / Buyer Questions

Common buyer questions on moulding toy car and truck bodies and chassis.

  • Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Toy Vehicle Bodies and Chassis?
Most toy vehicles fit horizontal machines. Small bodies and chassis usually sit in the E Series, while larger trucks or deep body moulds move to the C or H Series, sized by mould and cavities.
  • Are Toy Vehicle Bodies Always Plastic?
No. Collectible scale models often use die-cast zinc alloy bodies with moulded interiors, glazing and bases. Confirm which parts are plastic before a machine is quoted, since only those are injection moulded.
  • Which Grade Suits Painted or Chromed Toy Car Bodies?
A plating-grade ABS is the usual choice for chrome. The tool needs a high polish, gates off show faces and a stable mould temperature, because flow lines and splay show through paint and plating.
  • Why Is the Chassis Moulded Separately?
The chassis carries axles and screws, so it uses a tougher POM or PA grade and needs fit more than finish. A separate tool lets each part run its own material, cycle and cooling.
  • Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Toy Vehicle?
Yes. Share drawings or samples of the body and chassis, materials, finish, part weights, mould dimensions, cavities and volume, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine.
  • Does the Machine Suit Other Toy Vehicle and Mechanism Parts Too?
Yes. It can also mould toy wheels, axle housings and gears, ride-on toy steering and panels, and general plastic toys, depending on the mould.
