Injection Moulding Machine for Softener Control Valve Bodies and Internals
Softener control valve bodies and their pistons, seal carriers and injectors are moulded on horizontal injection moulding machines from PPO, glass-filled PA66 or PP, and POM. Projected area, the number of side cores for the ports and mould height decide the machine size. Round, concentric piston bores with a smooth finish matter most.
For valve bodies, selection weighs platen space for many slides, shot repeatability and steady mould temperature, while internals need small, precise shots. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for softener valve parts and can recommend a set of machines for body and internals.
Moulding Softener Control Valves?
Send the body and internal part drawings with materials and volumes, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend machines for each tool.
Machine Requirements for Softener Control Valve Moulding
A softener valve cycles through service, backwash and brine draw for years, and drift in one bore shows as a leak to drain. Points to check:
- Round, concentric piston bores without core shift
- Platen space and hydraulic circuits for several side cores
- Dimensional stability from PPO and glass-filled PA66 grades
- Drying for PA66-GF and PPO before moulding
- Polished, sink-free bores and seal lands for seal life
- Small, accurate shots for POM pistons and seal carriers
Recommended Machine for Softener Control Valves
Pistons, spacers and injector parts are small POM mouldings suited to the Hybrid PH (120-140 T) or E Series (75-180 T). Valve bodies are larger and carry several slides, which widens the mould and lengthens its stroke, so they usually run on C Series (140-320 T) machines, with the H Series (120-350 T) for the heaviest tools.

FAQs / Buyer Questions
Valve makers often ask these questions when setting up softener valve production.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Softener Control Valves?
Body and internals usually need different machines. Small POM parts fit the Hybrid PH or E Series, and the multi-port body, with its slides and wider mould, goes to the C or H Series. Why Do Softener Valves Leak to Drain After Some Time?
Seals wear fastest on bores that are oval, eccentric or rough. Core shift during filling, uneven cooling and anisotropic shrinkage of glass-filled grades cause these faults, so they are controlled at the mould and process stage. What Keeps the Valve Body Stable in Brine?
PPO and glass-filled PA66 or PP keep their dimensions through daily cycling in brine. POM suits pistons and sliding seal carriers for low friction and wear. PPO and PA66 must be dried before moulding.
How Are the Multiple Ports Formed in the Body?
Each port needs a slide or hydraulic core, so the mould grows wider and heavier. Weld lines form where flow fronts meet around these cores and should be kept away from pressurised bosses and threads. Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Softener Control Valve?
Yes. Share drawings or samples of the body and internals, materials, part weights, mould sizes, slide count and yearly quantity, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend suitable machines.Does the Machine Suit Other Softener Parts Too?
Yes. These machines also suit distributor hubs, riser adaptors and baskets, vacuum breakers and dosing pump heads, with tonnage confirmed against each mould.
