Injection Moulding Machine for AC Louvres
AC louvres, the moving vanes and swing blades of an air conditioner, are moulded on horizontal injection moulding machines from ABS, PP, HIPS or PC/ABS. Vane length, cavity count and the ratio of flow length to wall thickness set the machine. Straightness matters most, because a bowed vane binds in its pivots and stalls the swing motor.
Machine selection for louvres focuses on platen length for long moulds, multi-point gating and stable injection to keep each vane straight. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for AC louvres and can recommend a configuration for your vane and mould.

Machine Requirements for AC Louvre Moulding
A louvre is a long, thin part where straightness is functional and the pivot ends must run true. The machine needs:
- Platen and tie-bar space for long louvre moulds
- Multiple gates along the length to complete fill
- Even cooling so the vane stays straight
- Accurate pivot ends and gear teeth on every shot
- Grade and masterbatch chosen together against yellowing
- Shot capacity matched to cavity count and vane length
Recommended Machine for AC Louvres
Shorter vanes and swing blades suit the E Series (75-180 T), often in multi-cavity moulds. Longer louvres and higher cavity counts move to the C Series (140-320 T) or H Series (120-350 T), where platen length and tie-bar spacing matter more than force. Very long louvres needing larger tonnage are discussed on request.

FAQs / Buyer Questions
Answers to the questions louvre moulders raise most often.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make AC Louvres?
Horizontal presses from the E Series for shorter vanes up to the C and H Series for long louvres or more cavities. The choice follows mould length and tie-bar spacing as much as clamping force. Why Do AC Louvres Bow After Moulding?
Bow comes from uneven cooling, unbalanced flow along the length and moulded-in stress from high holding pressure. Gating at several points and cooling both mould halves evenly keep the vane straight enough to swing freely. How Is Yellowing Prevented on White Louvres?
Indoor louvres see heat and light for years, so a UV stabilised grade and a matched white masterbatch are chosen together. Overheating the melt or long residence time in the barrel can also start discolouration.
Are Pivot Ends and Gear Teeth Moulded on the Louvre?
On many designs the pivot pins and drive teeth are part of the same moulding. They are the precision features, so gate position, shrinkage and flash at the pivot are checked on first-off parts. Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My AC Louvre?
Share your louvre drawing or sample, material, length, part weight, number of cavities, mould dimensions and monthly volume, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine.Does the Machine Suit Other Air Conditioner Parts Too?
Yes. The same series can run related parts such as AC grilles, fan blades, blower scrolls and appliance fan housings, plus knobs and bezels, subject to the mould and tonnage.
