Injection Moulding Machine for Fan Blades

Plastic fan blades and axial impellers for appliances are moulded on horizontal injection moulding machines from glass-filled PP or nylon, or unfilled PP and ABS for light duty. Blade diameter, cavity count and shot weight set the machine size. Balance matters most, and it depends on even fibre orientation and a centred core.

Machine selection for fan blades focuses on accurate shot weight, stable injection and wear resistance when glass-filled grades are run. Pratishna Engineers supplies horizontal injection moulding machines for fan blades and can recommend a configuration for your rotor and mould.

Machine Requirements for Fan Blade Moulding

A fan blade is a rotating part, so balance at speed is the acceptance test. Machine choice turns on:

  • Repeatable shot weight for consistent rotor balance
  • Hub gating that keeps weld lines off blade roots
  • Wear-resistant screw and barrel for glass-filled grades
  • Drying capacity for glass-filled PA6 and PA66
  • Concentric hub bore with no core shift
  • Mould space for larger diameter axial rotors

Recommended Machine for Fan Blades

Small cooler and appliance blades, often run in multi-cavity moulds, fit the E Series (75-180 T). As mould size and shot weight grow, larger axial rotors and outdoor unit fans are better placed on C Series (140-320 T) and H Series (120-350 T) machines. Bigger diameters needing more tonnage than these series are handled on request.

FAQs / Buyer Questions

Points fan blade makers ask about before choosing a machine.

  • Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used to Make Fan Blades?
The E Series covers small blades and multi-cavity moulds, while the C and H Series take larger rotors. Blade diameter, number of cavities and the shot weight of glass-filled material decide the size.
  • Why Does a Moulded Fan Blade Go Out of Balance?
Uneven fibre orientation, core shift or unequal fill between blades changes the mass around the hub. A centre gate on the hub, balanced cooling and a stable shot keep every blade alike.
  • Which Grade Suits a Fan Blade, Filled or Unfilled?
Glass-filled PP or nylon gives stiffness at tip speed for motor-driven fans. Unfilled PP can suit low-load air cooler fans. Duty, speed and running temperature decide the grade.
  • Are Ceiling Fan Blades Injection Moulded?
Ceiling fan blades are usually metal, though some designs use plastic. Confirm the application before quoting, since this page covers axial impellers and appliance fan blades moulded in plastic.
  • Can Pratishna Recommend a Machine for My Fan Blade?
Share the blade drawing or sample, diameter, material, part weight, cavity count, mould dimensions and monthly volume, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine.
  • Does the Machine Suit Other Appliance Fan Parts Too?
Yes. The same range can mould appliance fan housings and blower scrolls, AC louvres, mixer grinder bodies and small appliance housings, subject to the mould.
